About Agnes Montanari, photographer
I have been a nomad for more than 30 years and my curiosity and wonder for the world was born and has grown through the contact I have had with its different cultures. From Algeria, Somalia to the Sultanate of Oman, from Papua New Guinea to Bangladesh and India and from Serbia, Georgia to Yemen, I have always been eager to learn and understand through the people I have met. I carry the souvenir of these encounters in my suitcase and it is my most precious possession. It is only in 2001 that I have started to ‘record photographically’ this experience.
This has lead me to develop few projects for various organizations such as Unicef, the ICRC, UNHCR or Doctors without Borders as well as work on my own projects.
